Hi, this is Chris Brown. Musician Pages is a place for us to share knowledge about music and performance. I'll be posting information about the stage, the studio and the practice room.Â
I love playing live music and my goal here is to share the love with you. There is so much that goes in to live performance...Tone, dynamics, communication, interaction, gear, ability... the list could go on.
I hope with this web site we can uncover some of the details of how we do what we do...maybe we can all learn something new. The endless quest for knowledge... That's what music is, right? |

Just thought I'd drop an update about my newest electronics project. I'm building an analogue multi-fx unit for myself.
I've been gigging with various pedal board configurations for the last few years and at this point I know exactly what I use, so I figure why not put it all in one box? I'm merging all of my favorite circuits into one big box so that I only have to carry my multi-fx box, a wah wah and sometimes a delay.. I might add delay to the multi-fx later... |

Chris Watson and a few other people commented on the chords I was using for I Will Survive so I thought I'd throw some music together. This is a standard example of my chord work. I try to use extended voicings whenever possible... maj7ths, 9ths etc etc. When you can fit these sounds into a pop or rock song you should go for it because over time it will open up your hearing and you will be able to easily alternate between standard chords and "jazz" chords. |

I get asked about my influences all the time so I thought I'd put together a list of some of my must have albums. I could really make a list of about 50, but this is a good start. This is in no particular order.... |

Buttons Restaurant is a very cool venue. The crowd loves and respects good musicianship. Very Ft Worthy. The food looks great and everyone says that it tastes as good as it looks. At the time of this post bands get 1/2 price on food. This is not a rock bar. The night starts out with dinner music. For us that means we get to play some cool jazz stuff that we love. As the night progresses the audience is looking for more dance music. Soul and funk but not rock dance music. I enjoy playing this kind of stuff the most. I loved this venue. I can't wait to go back. |
