The pink tape thing.... people ask me about this a lot.
It started because Bono the drummer had yellow tape on his cables and mics so that we could tell them apart from the house system when we did our own sound. I stole Bono's idea for home use. I was using some of my cables in the studio and on stage so I started putting pink tape on my stuff so that I could grab it up out of the studio without having to think about what was what. It turned out that this was awesome for the stage too... my guitar and mic cables jumped right out at me at the end of the night and it made my tear down time faster and easier. Now our band has specks of bright yellow and hot pink all over the place. After a few years of this I have pink tape on all sorts of stuff.... it's the only color duct tape I keep around, so any time I use duct tape it's the pink kind. I've used it to cover old holes in some of my pedals when I recycle a box (like the fuzz above) and on my mini booster I just used it for looks... On one of my upcoming builds I'm going to use pink tape to cover the box and then lacquer over it to that it stays nice, pink and clean looking forever. Why did you choose pink?? Because I feel like pink works well with my skin tones.... seriously... I do wear a lot of pink. You asked...
