Green/Red Boost Prototype PDF Print E-mail

Green/Red BoostThis is the prototype for my newest design.  It's a true clean boost with 18 volts of transparent headroom.

There are two levels of boost which can be selected by pressing the footswitch on the right.  Th prototype is called green/red because those are the LED colors that light up depending on if you've selected the first level of boost or the second.

AMZ Mini-Booster PDF Print E-mail

amz mini booster frontThe mini-booster is one of the most used pedals I've ever built. It's a popular build in the effects community and everyone seems to love it. I know I do.  Even the Fulltone Fat Boost was based on this design, but this circuit was originally created by Jack Orman as an adaptation of a circuit from National Semiconductor's app-note AN-32.

Some people would say that it is not a transparent boost because it adds a bit of sparkle to the high frequencies... This is true... It may not be "transparent" but it does retain the sound of your instrument or whatever you put in front of it. Transparent or not, it's a damn good sounding gain stage. When people play my gear at the jam they always love this one.

Papa G's, Watauga PDF Print E-mail

This place is big! At our Wednesday night jam we've had 7 people on stage with room to move around. And on weekend gigs there have literally been hundreds of people in the audience. Papa G's is a very fun venue.
