Buttons Restaurant is a very cool venue. The crowd loves and respects good musicianship. Very Ft Worthy. The food looks great and everyone says that it tastes as good as it looks. At the time of this post bands get 1/2 price on food. This is not a rock bar. The night starts out with dinner music. For us that means we get to play some cool jazz stuff that we love. As the night progresses the audience is looking for more dance music. Soul and funk but not rock dance music. I enjoy playing this kind of stuff the most. I loved this venue. I can't wait to go back.
Buttons Restaurant 4701 West Freeway # 100 Fort Worth, TX 76107 www.buttonsrestaurant.com The Stage You will be looking out on to restaurant seating with a dance floor cleared at the stage front. In the distance there is a bar and to the left you can see the kitchen. The stage is small by local standards but we fit a six piece band on it. Even with electric piano, two vocalists, guitar, bass and drums we all fit nicely. Buttons provides a drum kit and sound but they do not provide a sound man. We brought our own mics and stands so I'm not sure if that is provided as well. The did have monitors and a nice mackie board. We use wireless mics and guitar so that we can run the sound ourselves. Some bands will want to bring a sound pesron. Volume is an issue. We were very quiet and still a little bit too loud... wedding volume is about right. Power outlets are available on the back wall of the stage and along the front of the stage floor. Perfect. We played from 9pm to 1am but the web site says 8-12. Load In / Load Out Load in is early for musicians with lots of gear. Unless you're an expert at loading your gear in at crowded restaurants then you will need to go to Buttons early and set up before the diner rush, leave and come back at show time. You will load in through the front door and through the main dining area.. the kitchen entrance is not suitable for our purposes (but ...*secret tip* it is where you can go smoke with the staff on break if you don't want to stand out front). Load out is a breeze. Most of the patrons that are left will be at the bar area and you will be free to move your gear without having to excuse yourself over and over. Bring in your cart and take your gear out... no sound system to move... perfection. Don't forget to get paid by the manager. Check not cash.
